We have come a long way as a forward-thinking culture and society. There is way more equality and mindfulness around us today; than ever before. And one would imagine that in such an evolved culture the simple act of breastfeeding would be considered as a completely natural and normal activity. But the reality is further from the truth.
Women, even today, feel embarrassed to breastfeed in public. And when they muster the courage to do so, they are heckled at and asked to cover up. Not only is this absurd but an indicator of a much deeper problem that persists under the veil of our modern outlook.
This is, unfortunately, pushing a lot of women to move away from breastfeeding as soon as they can and switch to formula and solids. There is literally nothing better than breastmilk to nourish a newborn and we should make it as easy as possible for our children to be fed whenever and wherever they need it.
Breastfeeding, according to us, is fundamental to the human condition and it must be normalized in society.
