August 1-7: World breastfeeding week to create awareness on the importance of breastfeeding

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from August 1 to 7 worldwide in more than 120 countries. The event is celebrated to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. Breast milk is the natural first food for babies, the milk provides wholesome nutrients needed by the infant for the first few months of life.
