Hello and Welcome to My Channel!
Maya and I (Farrah) are new here, so be please be kind.
Here I share my tips and tricks from what I’ve learned as an exclusively breastfeeding mother for the last six months.
These are tips I have picked up along the way with guidance from midwives and also from baby-led breastfeeding.
I hope these tips are useful and can help some of you lovely Mama’s out there. Any questions, feel free to comment below.
TIPS
1. Check the latch:
– Babies lips/mouth looks like a K from the side.
– Watch their earlobe for up and down movement.
– Listen for that gulp!
2. If your baby falls asleep:
– Tickle them
– Blow on them gently.
– Undress them/ take off a few layers.
2. Eat well. Lots of protein. 500 calories extra a day.
3. Keep your fluids up.
4. Don’t overthink it and don’t feel pressurised to breastfeed.
4. Don’t feel embarrased-you are only feeding your child.
5. Don’t use breastfeeding apps if you can help it. You may feel more relaxed without it!
6. Buy a good supportive chair and a good breastfeeding pillow.
7. Treat yourself to nice nursing bras!
8. Babies will feed on demand, you will know when they are hungry or full.
9. Continue with your vitamins. (I use the Pre-Pregnancy Seven Sea’s one, it has the same vitamins and is 1/3 of the price as the Breastfeeding vitamins)
10. BE KIND TO YOURSELF.
