Here I discuss the problems I had with establishing breastfeeding with both of my children and overcoming a poor latch, nipple damage, bad physiological jaundice with both of my babies. I managed to breastfeed my son until he was 14 months and I’m still feeding my daughter as can be seen in the video.
I would really recommend the La Leche League website. They have really great videos and information on nursing and breastfeeding, including expressing and storing milk, feeding with nipple shields, milk supply, mastitis, nipple thrush, guidance of drinking alcohol/taking medication and breastfeeding. I know there are many other sources for information on this but this is the source I use. There are also probably breastfeeding support groups local to you and private Facebook pages that offer mother-to-mother support which is invaluable.
I have had other issues during my breastfeeding journey such as mastitis and nipple thrush which I may be able to make other videos on. Hopefully they won’t be as long as this one. I hope this is somehow helpful to others who are going through similar problems.
Happy latching for now.
