HIV Positive Mothers on ARTs encouraged to breastfeed

Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, Juliet Kavetuna, advised HIV mothers to continue breastfeeding whilst on antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Speaking at the opening of Africa Vaccination Week, Deputy Minister of Health, Juliet Kavetuna, explained that no matter whether the mother or infant are on ARTs, exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months is very important for protecting the infant against disease.
