She was called a slut, shamed and threatened because she appeared on a magazine cover breastfeeding a child. The model, Gilu Joseph, who posed for the Malayam magazine “Grihlakshmi”, says she did it because she felt it is an important cause. The Kerala High Court, which was petitioned by some people claiming the photo was obscene, has ruled that as beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, so does obscenity. Gilu Joseph speaks out on her sense of relief and vindication after the high court’s judgement.
