Thousands of activist mothers breastfeed in public

World Breastfeeding Week is a global initiative that runs annually from Aug. 1-7. Thousands of mothers breastfed in public to support the initiative. According to the World Health Organization, breastfeeding is a newborn’s first vaccine, providing vital antibodies. However, only 40 percent of children under six months old are exclusively breastfed globally.
