BREASTFEEDING TODDLER | Fact check!

BREASTFEEDING

I’ve been thinking about something, and it’s time to let it out. Beware because I am NOT going to filter myself like I usually do – this needs to be addressed.

• YES, my child is 26.5 months old and she still breastfeeds (a few times a day, at that).
• YES, she has a full mouth of teeth, and guess what? Her vocabulary is big enough where she can even ASK me to nurse – I know, SHOCKING 😱😒.
• Oh and guess what? She still benefits from all the nutrients in breast milk at this age – just like she did as a newborn and an infant – because breast milk does NOT lose it’s nutritional value no matter HOW old a child is.
• Yep, I sure as hell would breastfeed her in public if the situation arose – why wouldn’t I? Other kids get bottles of formula or sippy cups of cow milk in public, why shouldn’t my child have the right to eat what SHE eats, when and wherever she wants?
• “At this age, you do it for yourself. There are no benefits to the child.” For one, HOW FUCKING STUPID AND IGNORANT ARE YOU?!!! You try breastfeeding a toddler and tell me how “fun” or “pleasurable” it is – and to even think this way in the first place… yuck. People who think this way are the ones who are making me lose faith in the human race. 🤢
• And saving the best for last.. because people who use this one are a special kind of stupid – do not compare breastfeeding to peeing and/or pooping! YES, all are normal bodily functions, BUT, does peeing and pooping make us mammals? NOPE! Breastfeeding does. So there. Why should something that literally makes us who we are be hidden? Simple answer – IT SHOULDN’T!!! So there. 😅 got a lot off my chest hah. Long story short – breastfeeding is THE most natural thing in the world. It should not be hidden, mother’s should not be told and/or encouraged to cover up.

I should be able to post videos of my child eating in the way that she does, just like other moms are able to post vids of their child drinking from a bottle or a sippy cup. Simple. As. That. These moments are all too fleeting – and I want to remember them the best I can. I also want to give new mamas who may be struggling with breastfeeding that extra “oomph” that sometimes we need! 💪🏻❤️
