Breastfeeding Story

I recorded this video a few weeks ago. My daughter is almost 6 months old now. I thought I should add that.

Breastfeeding/pumping has been a true blessing and I couldn’t be happier with it. BUT, there’s challenges with breastfeeding as well. I did not realize how demanding it would be. From birth until almost 3 months, I was feeding her every 2-3 hours. Breastmilk goes through babies quicker than formula – which explains why breastfed babies need to be fed more often than formula-fed babies. I understand that for some women breastfeeding is very hard. The intention of the video is NOT to bash women for not breastfeeding, it’s just to share my story in hopes of encouraging more women to try it themselves.

@6:00 mark – I was going to say that I was headed in that direction already, because Ashanti and I were beginning to feed on different schedules. I would pump while she slept and she would eat while I slept. It got to the point where I tried to offer my breast and it’s almost like she forgot how to breastfeed…my heart was broken. From that point on, I decided to just pump. It’s been working out very well & I can see myself getting to that 1-year mark! 😀
